Does change of domain affect install

edited May 2013 in Using Sendy

Hi Ben,

We're thinking of changing the domain we used to set up Sendy to look more authoritative, currently we're using a .so which might be bad for deliverability (being a Somalia domain tld and all).

If we change domain, can we simply move Sendy or will we have to re-install it all?

I assume the bounce and complaints end points with Amazon will need to change, could you advise what else? Do you know if the DNS settings for domain validation will be the same?

Thanks for your help

Tom

    Hi Tom,

    1. Move Sendy files to the new server
    2. Move your MySQL database as well
    3. Change your APP_PATH and MySQL details in /includes/config.php
    4. Change your SNS endpoints for bounces/complaints handling in your Amazon SNS console
    5. Re-setup your cron jobs

    That's about it.

Do you know if the DNS settings for domain validation will be the same?

    Yes it'll be the same.

    Thanks.

  • Awesome, thanks Ben.
Shall I post here later with the domain change request when I'm ready or is via email better?
