Getting unsubscribe requests via email

edited April 29 in Questions

Since we upgraded to the latest Sendy version, I periodically get emails from subscribers to our newsletter sent-from address, with nothing in the body and 'Unsubscribe' as the subject.

I'm assuming these were generated by the recipient clicking one-click unsubscribe at the top of the email (List-Unsubscribe and/or List-Unsubscribe-Post: List-Unsubscribe=One-Click). However, the recipient is not getting unsubscribed, so I have to do it manually.

Is there something I can do to fix this?

TIA

  • Hi,

Sendy includes both the 'unsubscribe link' as well as the 'mailto' option in the List-unsubscribe header to maximize compatibility between different ISPs.

Some ISPs uses the unsubscribe link to unsubscribe users when they click on the native unsubscribe link, some uses the 'mailto' method to send an email to the sender to request for unsubscription.

The method that ISPs uses to unsubscribe users when the native unsubscribe link is clicked is out of anyone's control other than the ISPs themselves.

    Best regards,
    Ben
