Unable to get your SES quota from Amazon

edited December 2014 in Troubleshooting

Hello,

I have been using Sendy this summer (2014) for quite a while. Now I need to send another newsletter and find my SES quota to be zero, and I can't send any emails. I did not touch anything in the Sendy of AWS configuration, user policy is attached, my AWS account is still active, and even my time seems to be synchronized with NTP. What could I be missing here? Do I need different servers for NTP? This is the ntpstat on the actual server.

Many thanks for any pointer into this!

synchronised to NTP server (94.228.220.14) at stratum 3
time correct to within 68 ms
    polling server every 1024 s

  • Hi,

Try sending a test email in your Amazon SES console (not in Sendy) and see if you get any error message from Amazon.

    Best regards,
    Ben

  • Thanks Ben,
But, seems i've solved the issue. Apparently the usercredentials expire in AWS without any notice? Just to be sure I created a new Access and API key, and everything worked right away. The pointers in Sendy (due to zero AWS quota) got me confused, that only talks about a user policy, not an invalid access or API key.

In any case, it works, and this post might help others as a reference.

    Big love to Sendy!

  • Hi,

IAM credentials don't expire though as far as I understand. Anyway, glad you resolved your issue.

    Thanks.

    Best regards,
    Ben
