Is there a way to know which emails are unsubscribed by their ISP and which did manually?

edited October 13 in Questions

We forgot to enable double opt-out for a list, and as a result, most of the contacts were automatically unsubscribed. Is there a way to determine which addresses unsubscribed manually versus those that were unsubscribed through their ISP?

For example, can we view logs showing when each specific email was sent and when it was unsubscribed, or identify when each contact’s last activity changed and compare that to when the email was sent? I would imagine if it changed directly after being sent it was automatically unsubscribed.

    Hi,

Here's what you can do to find out which emails are unsubscribed by their ISP:

In the campaign report, export a CSV of all those who 'Unsubscribed' (see screenshot here).

Then sort the CSV by 'Last activity'. This is their 'Unsubscribed' timestamp. If a contact’s unsubscribe timestamp is immediately after the email was sent, it’s very likely an automatic unsubscribe triggered by the ISP. If the unsubscribe occurred later, it was probably manual.

    Hope this helps.

    Best regards,
    Ben
