Differentiation between Hard and Soft Bounces

edited November 2012 in Questions
Hi Ben, may I know if it's possible to differentiate the hard and soft bounces in the report?
This is so that we can follow up with those hard bounces to check on their valid email address.

Also, when importing a new list, will the list be scrubbed against previously bounced emails, unsubscribed (if all list unsubscribe is enabled), spam report etc?
I know that at the moment it does remove duplicates.

Thank you.

  • Hi, bounces shown in the report are all 'hard bounces'. You can download the CSV of the full list of bounced emails.

    When importing a new list:
    1. 1. Sendy will scrub against ALL bounces against ALL lists and make sure they don't get imported
    2. 2. It will also check if the subscriber exists in the list you're importing into, if so, the email won't be imported. Which means the current status of the subscriber detected in the list will remain intact. If they're unsubscribed, they'll remain unsubscribed. If they previously marked your email as spam, they'll remain as 'marked as spam'. But it won't check if the subscriber is unsubscribed or marked as spam on another list.
