Mail delivered recipients does not tally with subscriber list

edited November 2012 in Troubleshooting
Hi Ben,

1. Few days ago, while sending a campaign, we noticed that the final recipients was more than the list we chose to deliver to. It seems like the subscribers has been queued more than once for sending

2. Just moments ago, sending 2 campagins of 7K subscriber each, gave a total usage of 11K SES quota used.

There seems to be quite a bug with this, I'm not sure how to troubleshoot to assist you in this.

Hi @yaoquan, sending 2 campaigns with 7K each should use up 14k SES quota. So Sendy is not sending more than it should?

For each email sent, Sendy will delete the email from queue, it will not send more than once.

Also, for emails not sent, the campaign item will show 'X not delivered'. Clicking on it will let you download a CSV with then names and emails not delivered as well as SES's error code.

The last thing Sendy does is send more than it should.

When you choose the list you want to send to, the sending script will get all subscribers belonging to these lists and insert them one by one into the queue at the time of sending (less bounces, complaints & unsubscribes). Once the queue reaches your SES send rate in a few milliseconds, let's say, 28, it will send 28 emails at once to Amazon SES. Once SES returns a response, the email will be deleted from the queue.

If SES returns a response other than '200', that means the email is not delivered. It will be recorded in the database. You can then download these undelivered emails together with their error code via a CSV file after the campaign has completed sending.
