I was thinking on this some more. Probably two things would help:
1) On the list of lists page, to have a little search box in the top right hand corner, like you have on the list subscribers page. But for that to search all lists across all brands maybe.
2) When you click in to a subscriber, to display other lists that their email address is a member of (and their status on that list) in the pop-up under campaign activity (or perhaps a list accessible via a button there).
