Unable to install, server error 500

Hi,

Have been trying to install for two days now. Tried with nginx first, but even with the correct rewrite rules it didn't work, so uninstalled nginx and running apache again.

I have confirmed that mod_rewrite is running. Tried running _install.php directly, also gives error 500. _compatibility.php gives me a blank page.

Any ideas would be very welcome

    'mysqli extension' is not installed for PHP on your server. Please request your host to install it.
