preparing to send takes for ever

edited October 2012 in Troubleshooting
I updated sendy to version 1.0.8, and when I try to send a campaign I get the message "preparing to send campaign to 1 recipient, excluding duplicates between lists", and I only have one list with one recipient..after 20 minutes it delivers the email. Any ideas why it is so slow?

  • Hey,

The latest 1.0.8 version uses CRON to send your campaigns if CRON is set up.

How it works is that the next time CRON executes the scheduling script, it'll send out your campaign. If you've set up CRON correctly to execute the scheduling script every 5 mins, your campaign will be sent within the next 5 mins. It won't take 20 minutes to deliver your email. Unless you set CRON to execute the script every 20 mins?
  • Is this the right configration for the cron job?

  • To avoid this problem I should schedule each campaign, so the cron job is enabled?
  • The 'Minutes' field should be */5

This will make CRON execute the scheduling script every 5 mins.
