The difference between 'Sent' and 'Deliveries'

edited May 2013 in Questions

Hi there,

I just sent to a list of 502 and all seems to have gone according to plan. I'm a little puzzled by the terms used in the SES backend.

On the SES Dashboard, I see an orange number which says '114 sent', underneath which is a bar showing how many emails I have left for today.

Beneath that is a chart showing 'Deliveries'. This line chart has a line which shows (pretty much) my 502 delivered. I'm not worried about the fact that they are getting through, because Sendy is show more than 114 opened, but I'm puzzled as to the difference between xxxx sent and delivered.

I'd really appreciate it if you could clear up my confusion.

Thanks so much.

  • Hi @njwrigley,

'Sent' and 'Deliveries' are the same thing.

The orange number that says '114 sent' takes a while to update (sometimes it can take quite a while). The graph updates almost immediately.

That explains why you're confused with the terms 'Sent' and 'Deliveries' as the numbers does not tally. But they will tally after a while once the orange number updates.

    Thanks.

    Ben

  • Okay - thanks for your usual, amazingly swift, response.
