Issues with preview

edited June 2013 in Troubleshooting

Hi,

Wonderful app, thanks!

If I create a link (e.g. http://google.com), it shows up incorrectly in preview mode. If I mouseover the link in preview mode, it seems to be prepending my list domain name, and adding some extra quotes. So the url that appears is: http://mydomain.com/"http://google.com" instead of: http://google.com. But it works fine when the actual email is sent. So it's just broken in preview mode, which isn't that big of a deal.

The second issue that I'm having is that when I copy and past your unsubscribe tags: <unsubscribe>Unsubscribe here</unsubscribe>, the tags don't seem to convert into an actual unsubscribe link. After saving, when I look at the newsletter in preview mode, it shows the tags unchanged. If I send the email at this point, I still see the tags in the received email. However after I first paste in the tags, if i press the "Save & Switch to HTML editor" button, then when I look at the email in preview mode, the tags have been properly converted into unsubscribe links, and the links function correctly in the received email.

This is with Sendy 1.1.7.1, and Chrome 27.0.1453.116 on OS X.

Thanks!

  • Hi @manishie,

    Wonderful app, thanks!

    Thank you!

I don't have the problem here with links wrapped in quotes in the preview though. Can you check if your href tag is malformed?

For the unsubscribe tag, just make sure the tag goes in the HTML code.

    Thanks.

    Best regards,
    Ben

  • Hi, I'm just pasting in http://google.com as a test in the wysiwyg editor. I type in some text, highlight it, click the link button, type in the well formed url, save the document and view it. Thanks.

  • And I just confirmed that the html is correctly structured.

  • I just created a campaign with http://google.com wrapped in a href tag. It's coming out as http://google.com though.

By the way, you did not sign up to the forum with the email you used to purchase Sendy (as prompted on the forum signup page), so I can't check further information.
