Installed but get 404 error when trying to access Settings

edited February 2015 in Troubleshooting

I've installed as www.devinewebstudio.com/sendy folder directory. I even updated htaccess to RewriteBase /sendy. I asked support at my host, Site5 and they said mod_rewrite is enabled.

http://www.devinewebstudio.com/sendy gets me to my main admin page after I login.

But,

http://www.devinewebstudio.com/sendy/login and http://www.devinewebstudio.com/sendy/settings do not work and give me a 404 page when I try to access them.

What have I done wrong?

  • Hi,

    1. Make sure the .htaccess file in your /sendy/ folder is the original Sendy's .htaccess file downloaded from http://sendy.co/get-updated
    2. Add RewriteBase /sendy after the line RewriteEngine On in Sendy's .htaccess file

    Best regards,
    Ben

  • I am able to view the .htaccess file where my Wordpress install sits on the server.

Is there a separate hidden .htaccess file under the /sendy folder one level down in directory? When I show hidden files when I click into the Sendy directory I cannot locate the .htaccess file.

    Thanks for your help,
    Zach

  • Hi,

Sendy has it's own .htaccess file. There should be a .htaccess file in your sendy folder. Please download Sendy from http://sendy.co/get-updated, unzip the zip, the .htaccess file is inside.

    Best regards,
    Ben
