Cannot login to Sendy

edited December 2016 in Troubleshooting

Hi,

I tried logging in today and received an "Incorrect password or user does not exist" error.

I followed the troubleshooting steps found here:

https://sendy.co/troubleshooting#forgot-password

My login address is verified with SES, but the "Forget password" emails never arrived (yep, I checked the spam folder).

I accessed the Sendy login database and pasted the hash that resets the password, but even with that new password the login still fails.

Any and all help is much appreciated.

Paul

    Hi,

Please update to the latest version of Sendy and try again.

    Thanks.

    Best regards,
    Ben

  • Thanks, Ben. I updated to the latest version.

The good news: The password reset now works.

The bad news: When I log in with the new password, nothing happens. That is, after I click "Sign in", the login page reappears. No error message is shown.

  • Thank you, Ben:

    • I've confirmed that I'm using the correct case for the login email and password.

    • My login URL is http://newsletter.domain.com, so I don't think the "www" redirect solution applies here.

    • The session.save_path variable is set and it's pointing to an existing directory.

    • I'm not sure what "over quota" means in this context, but I can find nothing to that effect on my site and everything else on the site works properly. (This includes being able to subscribe to and unsubscribe from Sendy lists.)

  • Hi Paul,

Can you please check your APP_PATH in the /includes/config.php script and make sure it's set as 'http://newsletter.wordspy.com' and not 'http://wordspy.com/newsletter'.

I visited http://newsletter.wordspy.com and was redirected to http://wordspy.com/newsletter before being redirected back to http://newsletter.wordspy.com/login which explains the issue you're having.

    Thanks.

    Best regards,
    Ben

  • Hi Ben,

Success! The subdomain had a redirect on it. When I disabled the redirect, the login worked. Thanks for pointing me in the right direction.

    Cheers,
    Paul
