How to setup a cron job?

I know Ben and any other moderators are probably sick of seeing this question but please, would someone point me in the direction of some comprehensive setup instructions for running a CRON job?

Ben, I know you have linked to screenshots in some of the other posts but honestly this is not helping someone like myself. I have seen the prompts etc., I have seen the command line, the trouble is I don't know what to do with the command line. I have hosting etc, hell I even coded my own website (mostly!) but I do not know PHP.

Please pretend I know absolutely nothing and tell me how to set it up from the beginning - I would appreciate it and I'm sure many others would too.

For #5, it says 'Enter in the desired Command and click the Add New Cron Job button'. Copy the 'Command' from Sendy's cron job setup instructions (see example screenshot below):
