Can I skip version numbers when I upgrade?

I have version 2.1.2.7 and I would like to use 3.0.4 skipping all the 2.xxxx versions and a few #.xxx versions. Can I install the latest version without incrementally installing the minor versions?

Yes you can install the latest version no matter which version you are currently on.
