Best practices for images?

edited January 2019 in Questions

Good morning,

What are the best practices for including images in emails using Sendy? I've been uploading images to my WordPress site, and then linking back to those images through the tag. However, When I get the emails in Gmail, it does not show the images. It gives a message that says "Images are not displayed. Display images below - Always display images from
.". I've used the "Always" display several times, but it doesn't keep. And if I am not seeing the images, I worry that neither are the people receiving the messages. Is there something I can do to embed the images or to make this easier and to ensure images get displayed?

Thank you.

  • Hi,

Gmail usually does not display images by default. They’d have to click ‘load images’ and hit ‘Always’ if they want images to be loaded from that particular ‘From email’.

If you click ‘Always display images’, Gmail should always display images, unless you’re always sending from a different ‘From email’.

    Best regards,

  • Thank you for responding.

Even if I choose "Always" it still requires me to do it each time. I get marketing messages from other companies where the images do automatically load, so I'm curious how I can get our images to automatically load as well so that the people I'm sending it to see the intended version of the newsletter.

Is there a way I can mark the images or encode them or something so that they will show by default, as other marketers are able to do somehow?

  • Hi,

Search for "image data uri email marketing" and you'll find information on how to embed images using "data uri".

    Thanks.

    Best regards,
    Ben
