Amazon SES region and billing

edited December 2020 in Questions

When I first setup Sendy, Canada wasn't an option for SES but since then it has been added. Can I go into my Amazon AWS account and change it to Canada so I can change it in Sendy to match since it mentions that they need to be both the same? Any idea if I'll then be charged in Canadian currency (which is really the main reason I want to do this)?

    Hi,

Yes you can use Canada region, Amazon SES now supports this region. You can change to this region in your Amazon SES console and change it in Sendy's main settings to match.

Any idea if I'll then be charged in Canadian currency (which is really the main reason I want to do this)?

My understanding is that you'll still be charged in USD. You can contact Amazon support to check on this → https://console.aws.amazon.com/support/home

    Thanks.

    Best regards,
    Ben

  • Thanks Ben.

  • just an FYI for others, just had a chat with AWS rep and there really isn't any good reason for me to change it so I'll leave it as is since it all just works fine (and no I would not be billed in CAD).
