Succeeded with small list but emails not sending for bigger list

edited September 2012 in Troubleshooting
This is rather strange. This is the firs time I am sending a campaign to my real mailing list. I have sent quite a number of test campaigns to a small mailing list consisting of my own emails and colleagues'. We received them all. But when I broadcast the campaign to my real mailing list with over 2000 subscribers, the emails are not going out. It's been 4+ hours and nothing. Even in SES, my numbers did not changed, though the campaign says that the emails has been sent out. My quota for the day remains unchanged.

My SES account has already receive the production status and is not at 10,000 emails per day.

I thought it was the sender email, but we didn't changed that. I am using a verified email address with verified domain with DKM and SPF in Area53. The same sender email for my testing.

So got ideas? I got nothing....

  • If your previous campaigns were successful and all of a sudden it is not, it's definitely strange. Note that sending to a small group or 2000 subscribers does not dictate whether your campaigns will be sent out or not.

This is mind boggling, but lets try this - send a new campaign to just yourself now and see if you receive it?
  • yes, this puzzles me too. i tested and the emails went out and arrived in my Inbox. no email seems to be sent out when I send the same campaign to my 2600+ subscribers. I even tested sending with scheduled/cron this time. But the same thing. I don't think it's a performance issue. Do you think that it could be because of the email addresses in the list?
  • The SES status on AWS (number of emails sent) can take several hours to show the real number, even if the emails were actually sent. Are you sure that the email did not went out ?
  • alright... I figured it out. my colleague that imported the mailing list has quotes in them. so the emails are like "email@domain.com" and obviously malformed. I updated the list and it's working now.
  • The later versions of Sendy now handles CSVs with quotes, this thread will now be closed.
