New to website hosting and servers, could use help installing Sendy

edited April 2013 in Questions

This may be a simple set up for most of you guys on here. But I am a little lost on the installation procedures as I am not familiar with servers and hosting websites as I am new to it all. So any help is appreciated. I would like to learn this personally before I resort to paying for installation help. I am currently hosting my website at godaddy.com and have created a MySQL database and entered the credentials in the config.php. In step #2 of the getting started guide it states to upload all files to my server. Now my stupid question is, is this "server" the MySQL database or the file manager of my website?

  • Hi Roberto,

is this "server" the MySQL database or the file manager of my website?

It's the "file manager" of your website.

    Thanks.

  • Hi Ben,

Thanks for your response. One more question...

Now you say the files are to be uploaded to the file manager of the website. When I do this can I leave them in the Sendy folder or are they required to be removed from the folder and placed in the root directory? Thank you.

  • Well I got everything set up and running. Sendy looks to be a very promising tool. Thank you!

  • Congrats. I like your learning spirit!
