Can't save edited subscriber info in modal window

Hi Ben - I'm a new user.

Install all went fine (did it all myself), can now send emails, schedule campaigns, set up autoresponders, import subs etc.

So I'm in the middle of testing before migrating some lists from another platform.

The one thing I cannot seem to do is to edit any information about a subscriber inside the modal window. The field I click on (eg Name, email, any custom field) turns white as if editable, and I CAN edit the info inside it, but as soon as I click off, or attempt to click "Close", none of the edits are saved.

Can you please point me in the right direction? Seems like a permissions issue somewhere in the SQL database? (But I'm no expert!)
