Importing CSV - overwriting data for skipped items

edited October 2019 in Questions

When importing a CSV containing records that already exist in Sendy, the UI reports “x emails were skipped from your last import. To see the list and reasons, export the CSV“. The resulting error CSV shows email addresses marked as 'Already Exists'.

Preexisting data is overwritten by the data in the CSV even though Sendy says the record was skipped. This support ticket suggests that the user would be skipped and the values would not be overwritten. Can you clarify the expected behaviour please?

  • Hi,

If an email address already exists in the list, it will skip importing of the same email address, but any other data like name and custom fields will be overwritten by the data in the CSV for that email address.

    Thanks.

    Best regards,
    Ben
