After I remove the iframe:on line, the table border becomes visible. But later I realize it comes with a price. It's not quite wysiwyg anymore. The layout inside the editor is quite different from the final version. I wonder if there is a fix?

If you worked with Adobe Dreamweaver before, you'll see that the editing view looks completely different from the 'preview' on the browser with all the table outlines as guides. That's exactly what you're seeing with Redactor's WYSIWYG editor now that the "iframe" flag is removed.
