Pages load only when adding .php extension

I needed to move my Sendy to a new VPS. I actually just copied everything over since my usernames and such are the same. It appears it all works, BUT some urls will load like https://mydomain.com/login, or https://mydomain.com/settings, won't load until I add .php.

However, some urls like https://mydomain.com/app?i=1 won't laod at all and I get an error. I think it has something to do with .htaccess files, but I can't figure this out.

I have done this previously, from an earlier VPS to the one I just moved from, and it worked seamlessly. Not this time. Any ideas? Thank you for your help!
