MySQL binlog files

Only Sendy is using MySQL but there are a lot of binlog files taking up over 3.6GB of space, can these be safely deleted? I'm not quite sure what they are used for. I'm hosting on AWS:

Hi,

I've done some research and here's what I found:

With MySQL8, they have turned on binary logging by default and the default purge (expiry/deletion) of binary logs is set to 30days.
