Automatically stop a campaign

Is there a way to automatically stop a campaign if the bounce rate or complaint rate reaches a certain percentage?

  • Hi,

Sendy does not have a built-in option to automatically stop a campaign when the bounce or complaint rate reaches a certain percentage. You can stop a campaign manually with one click while it is in "Preparing" or "Sending" status, so keeping an eye on the campaign report while it sends is the way to do it for now.

To prevent high bounce rates in the first place, Amazon SES recently introduced Email Validation, which includes an Auto Validation feature. When enabled in your SES console (under Email Validation), SES checks every recipient address before sending and automatically suppresses addresses that are unlikely to be delivered, based on a threshold you choose (SES managed, High or Medium). These suppressed sends don't count toward your SES bounce rate metric. It is inexpensive: Auto Validation costs $0.01 per 1,000 validations (so about $0.10 for 10,000 emails), though the standard sending charge still applies to the suppressed sends and they still count toward your sending quota.

    Best regards,
    Ben
