How long does domain verification take?

Hello, I just want to make sure i've configured my DNS correctly. I've added the TXT and CNAME's to my DNS via cPanel. On SES, DKIM verification was almost instantaneous however i'm still getting a pending verification message.

DOMAIN Pending Verification
DKIM Verification Status: verified
DKIM Signing: waiting on sender verification...

did I do everything right and Amazon is just taking their time verifying or should I look into it more?

    Domain verification takes as long as your DNS takes to propagate the changes around the world.

    It also depends what you set as the TTL value, the larger the number, the longer it takes.

    It may take up to 48 hours, but usually shorter (less than a few minutes most of the time).
