SNS Subscription Endpoint - https or http?

edited May 2014 in Questions

My endpoint is secure and looks like this... https://app.mysendyinstall.com/... Should I select https as SNS endpoint protocol?
I'm asking because everything looks fine to me but for some reason i am getting a message from sendy that bounces and complaints have not been set up. I have set them up. Not sure what the problem is.

  • You can use 'HTTPS' for your SNS endpoints. But if you use 'HTTP', it's fine as well.

If you get the 'bounces and complaints not setup' warning when you send a campaign, see http://sendy.co/troubleshooting#bounces-complaints-warning

Ben - I sent test emails to the amazon test email addresses and they have been marked as such in sendy as spam and as bounced. Somehow on two of my sends, the check for bounce and complaint handling did not occur; the email was simply sent without me seeing the dialogue box that says "checking to see if your bounce and complaint handling is set up." But every time other than those two times i try to send a new email i still get a warning message that biunce and complaints have not been set up. I am noticing that in Amazon SES I clicked on "enable" for "Enable Feedback Forwarding" and then clicked save. But I notice that when I check a little later it has changed in Amazon SES to "disabled." But as of right now both email addresses are enabled for feedback forwarding, bounce and complains are set up for both email addresses, enable feedback forwarding is enabled for the domain and bounce and complaint topics are matched with the domain. One of the email addresses I am using has been verified but I have not verified the domain for that 2nd email address. But I have as mentioned before enabled feedback forwarding selected boiunce and complaint subscriptions in the Feedback settings for all of these. Also, both bounce and complaint subscriptions are confirmed. And region is same in sendy as in Amazon. I do not want to just ignore this warning bec I want to make sure I have not made a mistake somewhere. I also don't want my clients to see this error when we start using their email addresses as verififed senders.

  • Hi,

the check for bounce and complaint handling did not occur; the email was simply sent without me seeing the dialogue box that says "checking to see if your bounce and complaint handling is set up."

If the check was previously successful, it will not check again.

I am noticing that in Amazon SES I clicked on "enable" for "Enable Feedback Forwarding" and then clicked save. But I notice that when I check a little later it has changed in Amazon SES to "disabled."

This is correct behaviour. 'Email feedback forwarding' is deliberately disabled so that won't get emails for every single bounce/complaint notification sent by Amazon. Bounces and complaints are already flagged in Sendy when it happens, you don't need to receive an email each time this occurs.

    Thanks.

    Best regards,
    Ben
