Send from Amazon EC2 without domain?

edited April 2015 in Questions

Hey Ben,

I set up an instance on Amazon on EC2 because Sendy was running too slowly on my site. I don't really need to host any of my websites there though, I just set it up specifically for Sendy to run off of. Can I just use the IP address from my Amazon EC2 as opposed to actually setting up a domain/website there?

Thanks In Advance.

Yes you can just use EC2's IP address as your Sendy URL to access your Sendy installation. Though I'd recommend mapping a CNAME, eg. sendy.yourdomain.com to EC2's IP address so that you can access Sendy via http://sendy.yourdomain.com.

    Hope this helps.

    Best regards,
    Ben
