Can i install sendy on localhost ?

have purchased the key for my domain while I wish to test it on local host. Have installed xampp and completed the said configuration.
Installation was succesfull:

Server compatibility checklist

Your PHP version is 5.3.1
mod_rewrite is enabled
display_errors is turned off
hash is enabled
curl is enabled

Great. Looks like your server is configured perfectly to run Sendy.

Dont see anything further.. is it a must that I can use sendy only on the server that hosts the domain name .. ?
