Odd 404 being found in all my emails

edited July 2015 in Troubleshooting

I am getting a link that 404s in all of my emails that are sent out it goes to http://136.243.12.222/mail_open.php?msg_id=f9efaf930facccb561a1c954e994d0f9@MYDOMAIN&mail_to=d2ViLUVlSGowOEBtYWlsLXRlc3Rlci5jb20K&mf=Y2xlYW5fbG9nX3AxCg==&fm=Y2xlYW5fbG9nXzA3XzIwMTUK
I don't know what that ip is but I don't think its tied to anything I normally deal with

when I check the source of my msgs I don't see that in the msg window when I am sending them but when I view the source of the sent email its added to the end of the email right before the body tag

  • Hi,

The link that you pasted here does not have anything to do with Sendy though (http://136.243.12.222/mail_open.php?msg_id=f9efaf930facccb561a1c954e994d0f9@MYDOMAIN&mail_to=d2ViLUVlSGowOEBtYWlsLXRlc3Rlci5jb20K&mf=Y2xlYW5fbG9nX3AxCg==&fm=Y2xlYW5fbG9nXzA3XzIwMTUK). It's not a trackable link nor was it produced by Sendy.

Please check the source of your HTML code in the editor.

    Thanks.

    Best regards,
    Ben

  • this forum rendered my html to display but you can see the difference that little tiny missing image at the bottom of the post

  • I searched the files looking for mail_open.php and didn't find anything referencing it
is there a way to search the db and see if that exists in our db anywhere?

  • ok I looked in phpmyadmin and did a search on all the tables and it couldn't find mail_open is there any other way it could be getting added in?

  • Can you send me your Sendy URL, email and password so I can send a test campaign to myself.

  • ok I sent you a PM thanks for your help

  • Ben did you get that PM I am not sure I sent it properly through this forum

  • Hi,

    Best regards,
    Ben

That is very strange. I've never seen this before though. Can you ask your hosting support if they have any clues?

    Best regards,

  • I figured out what it was it was from our smtp provider ODD I tried using gmail settings and it removed that list so now I am hunting for a better smtp provider
