Custom fields - check boxes possible?

How customizable are custom fields? Is it possible to use check boxes or radio buttons?

Hi,

Think of custom fields as 'data holders’, they store data. You can build your own form that includes anything from text fields to checkboxes and radio buttons, then send the data to ‘custom fields’ for storage.
